What is changing?
The new “Approved for you” section in Google Workspace Marketplace allows users to quickly view and install apps that have been approved and allowed by its administrators.
Who is shocked?
Administrators and end users
Why it is important
Administrators can specify which third-party apps their users can install from the Google Workspace Marketplace. With the addition of the “Approved for you” section in Marketplace, users can quickly find and install pre-approved apps for Gmail, Drive, Editors, Calendar, and more.
First steps
- Administrators: Visit the Help Center for more information on how to manage Google Workspace Marketplace apps for your organization. If you allow your users to install any Marketplace app, the “Approved for you” section will be hidden.
- End Users: To view Marketplace apps approved by your administrator, visit the “Approved for you” section of Google Workspace Marketplace.
Implementation pace
- Rapid Release and Scheduled Release Domains: Extended release (potentially more than 15 days for visibility of the feature) starting June 8, 2021.
Availability
- Available for Google Workspace Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, and Nonprofits, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers.
- Not available for Google Workspace Essentials and Frontline customers.
