What changes do we implement?
You can now enable audit logging for APIs. Google Cloud Search and improve tracking of usage data. With detailed tracking, you can now develop richer analytics using Cloud Search to make data-driven decisions and improve the user’s search experience.
When this feature is enabled, Cloud Search API usage data is securely logged. Plus, you’ll be able to access them more easily. Some of the data points that are recorded are:
- API and method details
- Relevant content of the request and the response received
- Identity (e.g. email ID) of the sender and IP address
- Response status

To administrators and developers
Why use this function?
Audit logs help you understand how Cloud Search is used in your organization by answering questions such as who uses which API, when, and with what parameters. Additionally, you can use the logs for troubleshooting or auditing.
How to get started
- Administrators: By default, audit logging is DISABLED. Check out this guide if you want more information on using audit logging in Cloud Search.
- End users: No action required.

- Quick and scheduled launch domains: This feature is now available.
Availability
- It is available for Google Workspace Enterprise Plus and Google Cloud Search customers.
- Not available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, Frontline, and Nonprofits, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers.
