In today’s fast-paced world, efficiency is key. Google Workspace knows this and is constantly adding new features to optimize the way we work. Earlier this year, Google Chat introduced voice messages, a fantastic tool for communicating quickly and concisely, especially when writing isn’t an option. Now, Google Workspace is taking it a step further with a new feature that promises to take accessibility and productivity to the next level: voice message transcriptions!

Users will be able to view an automatic transcription of voice messages in Chat on the web and mobile. This update allows users to consume content in their preferred format or in the format that is most convenient for them at that moment.

How does it work?

It’s very simple. When you receive a voice message in Google Chat, whether on the web or on your mobile device, an audio transcript will be automatically generated. This way, you can choose how to consume the information: by listening to the audio or reading the transcript. It’s up to you!

Key benefits:

  • Greater accessibility: Ideal for people with hearing impairments or those in noisy environments where listening to audio is difficult.
  • Improved productivity: Save time by quickly reading information instead of having to listen to the entire audio.
  • Flexibility: Choose the format that best suits your needs at any given time.
  • Better understanding: Transcription allows you to reread the message if something wasn’t clear the first time.

Available to everyone

This amazing feature is available to all Google Workspace users, whether you’re part of an organization or an individual subscriber.
