You can now share multiple files in a single message in Google Chat.

At G Nerd, we’re always on top of the latest Google Workspace updates to keep you informed and help you get the most out of your work tools. Today, we’re bringing you a Google Chat update you’re sure to love: the ability to send multiple media files in a single message!

Previously, sharing images, videos, and documents in Google Chat was a bit of a chore if you needed to send multiple files at once. While you could use the “Shared” tab to access all the media in a conversation, when composing a message, you could only attach one image at a time on the web version.

But that’s over! Google has listened to its users’ requests and has decided to optimize this feature so you can share your work more quickly and efficiently.

What does this update mean for you?

  • Streamline your conversations: Forget about sending photos from your latest event one by one. Now you can share up to 20 images or videos in a single message, saving you time and making your conversations flow more smoothly.

  • Optimized mobile experience: This new feature is available in both the web version of Chat and the mobile app, allowing you to share media from any device with the same ease.

  • Drag and drop: To make the process even easier, Google Chat now lets you drag and drop media files directly into the compose bar on your desktop.

Who can enjoy this new feature?

This update is available to everyone:

  • Google Workspace Customers

  • Individual Workspace Subscribers

  • Users with personal Google accounts
